Australian Couple Furious After Winning $4.2 Million Home: “Not Justified”
An Australian couple who recently won a house worth 4.2 million Australian dollars (about 2.5 million euros) is furious about their new home and now consider it a nightmare.
Dream Home Turns into a Disappointment
The house, located in Gisborne north of Melbourne, originally belonged to a property investor. Shortly after, it was offered as the grand prize in a lottery organized by the company LMCT+, according to reports on Ladbible.
The Griffin family won this lottery and were initially extremely excited to move into their new home. However, this joy was short-lived.
Footage shows Mr. Portelli, a representative of LMCT+, removing various luxury items from the house, including a robot vacuum, a treadmill, Smeg appliances, and even a barbecue. The Griffin family is deeply disappointed and emphasizes that the house was advertised as “fully furnished.”
Missing Items Spark Outrage
The Griffins have compiled a list of all the missing items and are demanding a sum of 102,000 Australian dollars.
Their dissatisfaction doesn’t end there. They have set up a website called “Our LMCT Nightmare.” If Mr. Portelli does not make payment, the site will go live.
Kevin and Andrea Griffin want every item shown in the promotional video of the house when they won it. Portelli claims these items were placed for promotional purposes and were not part of the lottery’s terms and conditions.
He has called the couple “ungrateful,” while Andrea Griffin has gone to the media to voice her complaints. Portelli says he doesn’t understand their reaction.
Public Response and Charity Twist
Portelli has now posted videos online addressing the family’s complaint. Additionally, he is considering a charity campaign for household items.
Regarding the Griffins’ claim, Portelli said: “To look at it positively, I will donate $100,000 to the homeless. At least they won’t complain.”
