Single Mother is Exhausted and Asks for Help in Taking Care of Her Triplets: Three Grandmothers Answer Her Call

The first months with a baby are incredibly hard and tiring for any mother. Imagine how tough it must be for a single mother with triplets. This is exactly what Hayley Arsenault experienced. For a month, Hayley cared for her three little ones with dedication, but the exhaustion became too much, and she sought help.

Hayley, a 25-year-old woman from Tignish, a small town on Prince Edward Island in Canada, had already tried to become pregnant several times. She was overjoyed, but also surprised, to learn she was expecting three babies. Unfortunately, the pregnancy—and the care for her children—turned out to be anything but easy. The children's father abandoned her, leaving her completely alone. The pressure became so great that Hayley decided to ask for help on Facebook.

Facebook brought a lot of attention to her situation, and three amazing grandmothers quickly jumped into action to help Hayley. Jenny MacDougall, Alice Mokler, and Anita Arsenault (no relation to Hayley) offered their support when they saw her call. “Taking care of one baby is already a lot of work,” said Jenny, “just imagine having three. As soon as we arrived at Hayley’s, we got to work. After a few days, you could finally see Hayley relax and laugh again. Whether it was doing chores, caring for the babies, or running errands, we were there for her. To give you an idea of how much help was needed: the babies go through about 250 diapers per week!”

Hayley was incredibly happy to discover these three women were willing to support her. Now, each grandmother takes care of one baby, meaning each little one gets the attention they need. This finally allows Hayley to catch her breath, knowing she can count on the unconditional support of these three special women. They have already formed a strong bond with the babies.
